Hello

Amanda Preston
BA(Hons) Lic Ac, Dip Tuina, ACC
Amanda is a fully qualified practitioner of Traditional Acupuncture, registered with the British Acupuncture Federation (BAF) and is a member of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC), representing professional qualified acupuncturists in the UK.
Amanda obtained her degree in Acupuncture from Oxford Brookes University and her Licentiate from The College of Traditional Acupuncture (Leamington Spa) in 2004. She spent two years studying physiotherapy in South Africa, and another year studying tuina (Chinese medical massage) here in York.
She recently took part in a feasibility study lead by Karen Charlesworth, through the University of York, Health Sciences Department. The study (entitled Santé-AF) is the first step in a long-term medical research project aiming to test whether traditional Acupuncture And Nutritional Therapy can help people with atrial fibrillation (AF) to feel better and experience fewer symptoms.
Amanda has undertaken many hours of postgraduate acupuncture training in all aspects of women's health - from supporting couples through IVF to treating heavy or painful periods in teenagers. Specialist post graduate training means she can safely treat women through pregnancy for conditions such as morning sickness, reflux, pelvic pain, insomnia and pre-birth preparation.
